Healthy Eating

Eating healthfully doesn’t have to be a hassle. For entirely different reasons, three local women have incorporated healthy meal-preparation habits into their cooking routines, and while the changes may have been initially jarring, they now are so commonplace that the women can’t imagine returning to their previous patterns. Find out how Liz Leahey,

of Kenosha, Carole Crawford, of Pleasant Prairie, and Catherine McConnell, of Kenosha, have improved their eating habits — and their health — with lifestyle changes that aren’t a struggle to maintain.

She wants you …

She magazine is looking for women to be featured in upcoming issues. If any of the subjects below interest you, please send an e-mail to she@kenoshanews.com. Be sure to tell us how we can contact you.

  >  Divorce can be a painful journey filled with self-doubt and apprehension. The first year following a divorce can be particularly trying, so She magazine wants to help women experiencing these challenges. If you are divorced and have adjusted to your post-married life, we want to hear from you. We want you to share with our readers your suggestions for getting through that first, difficult year. Did you join a club? Rely on friends? Search out a therapist? We don’t want to know the details of your divorce, and we’re not interested in who was to blame for your split. But we’d love to include your advice in order to help other women who are dealing with the same struggles you now have overcome.

  >   Are you and your husband an outgoing, fun, confident couple? Consider becoming the subject of our She and He feature, in which we ask spouses a series of questions to better understand the similarities and differences between men and women.

  >  Do you feel passionately about the activities you enjoy, the books that shape you, the everyday philosophies that guide how you live your life? Share them with our readers by answering the questions in the My Favorite Things feature.

  >   Is there a female relative in your life — your mother, grandmother, aunt — who has been an inspiration to you? We want to know the many ways this role model has encouraged and supported you. This woman must be available to pose for a photo with you for our In Her Day feature.
